    No surprise, lithium is a hot commodity now. Everything takes a back seat to $$$.

    The sooner we replace it with more common and benign chemistries like sodium batteries the better.

      Nah lithium is fine, all mining is destructive but lithium mining isn’t that bad and it’s recyclable.

      Everything takes a back seat to $$$.

      In this case it is a survival issue. Climate change is killing the life support system, killing people directly with the violence and frequency of storms and fires and the heat.

      Lithium extraction is as “benign” as sodium. The question here was not environmental damage that the mining causes but its location vs. Native American historical site.
