Like the title says. I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. Now that the weather has started to get cold, I have no power steering when first starting in the morning. The battery light also flashes momentarily when backing out of my parking spot. It’s a tight spot so it’s at some difficulty but I usually manage. If I remember and get downstairs early and I let it sit for a while to warm up all the way or just manage to backup and start driving until it warms up that way then the power steering comes back fine and works the rest of the day until it gets cold again. It has a new power steering pump that was replaced about one year ago and fresh power steering fluid that is not low. Any advice is appreciated.
Any squealing on cold starts? As said above, it sounds like a belt issue. Cold fluid is harder to pump. Add to that you say the pump was replaced. Check the tension on the belt and see what the pump actually does when you start. You gotta rule that out no matter what.
