I’ve recently bought a new pc with an i5-13500 and so far im using it with a stock cooler . Today while playin Fortntie the temp reached 100C , should i change the stock cooler asap and if yes , what new cooler should i buy ?
i haven’t looked much into coolers a lot but I’ve heard good about this
Yes you should look for a better cooler, I have the Intel 13500 in one of my systems and initially used the stock cooler which throttled the cpu in most applications. I had an old Scythe Mugen 5 and just ordered a LGA1700 mounting kit for it and it works very well. This is quite a beefy cooler and the cpu still hits about 80° in Cinebench.
So if you already have an older cooler your cheapest option is just seeing if they offer a LGA1700 kit for it.
Other than that it all depends on what you are willing to spend but a good starting point would be something like the Thermalright Assasin X120 Refined SE which can be found for as little as £15 here in the UK, not sure about pricing in your region. Personally I’d spend the extra on a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE for around £30.
*no I don’t work for thermalright :)
The stock cooler will hit 100 degrees while throttling; you have to understand there’s 14 cores and 20 threads on it. Its recommended to get any better cooler. Arctic eSports Duo 34 or any equivalent will work fine.
It’s normal (within specs, totally safe) for cpus to stay at 100 C. If performance is satisfactory you can leave it as is
Might be worth a try for an undervolt and repaste before you buy cooler though, you probably will want to get a better cooler eventually.
Any single tower cooler should be fine.
The AK400 or Thermalright Assasin X120 Refined SE are two popular choices.
Thanks for all the feedback guys ! Im going to change the cooler its decided . The thing is that the stock cooler is also a bit noisy while gaming etc. so i wanted to hear your thoughts on the cooolers of Be Quiet. I want something that will cool really well and will be less noisy . Thanks in advance !
