Hey all, apologies for a noob question.

Long story short, I had to give a friend a jump at 2AM last night. I realized afterward that I, half-asleep, attached the negative cable to a different spot on the negative terminal of my (donor) truck than I always have in the past. I circled it in blue in the pic. Green is where I usually hook it up. How bad did I mess up? The cables were otherwise attached properly/in the correct order and the jump went fine. My truck is also running fine today.

    Blue is actually where your supposed to connect. Or any other ground is the same. That way the battery management system keeos better track of the battery charge.

    But using the wrong side of the current sensor isn’t a big deal. It won’t cause damage. Just confuses the battery management a bit. That might cause a very minimum reduction in efficiency and battery life.
