2010 Chevy Malibu 2.4L
Replaced timing chain using Cloyes 2.4 guide. Trying first start it’s no crank no start (P1682, P0615, etc).
Thought no crank wiring may be an unrelated issue, so I bypassed starter relay jumping pins. Car cranks but won’t start (no related codes). After a few attempts I thought I might’ve heard a metal noise from the engine? Haven’t tried again. Could I have caused any internal damage? Any way to check?
Anyone have a similar experience? Thoughts?
I plan on opening back the timing cover and investigating the chain. But after that I’m a bit lost at what direction to look in.

You didnt mention in the post if the timing was set when replacing the chain. Replacing the chain without setting timing can bend the valves in the cylinder head, the 2.4 ecotec is an interference engine.

When I replaced the chains and the sprockets, I made sure to align the colored chain marks to the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets markings. Was there another step I should’ve taken to set the engine timing?
