It folds in half so it’s easier to bring to class or work. I’ll be your reading comprehension coach.

Why would I need a folding skateboard that takes up the same mass but now doubles width at the trucks/wheels?

I’ll be your “travels with skateboards as a living” advisor to the “don’t be an asshole” coach you should employ.

        Great fucking sub, nevermind lol

That looks very cool, my boosted board is a pain to bring around when I need to tuck it somewhere like a restaurant or when I’m getting in a car/subway.

Why would anyone want to put a dirty board in their backpack? I had a $400 meepo mini v2 for a year in college that I used to get to and from class every day. I don’t think I would ever put that board in my backpack even if it folded, especially when during entire weeks or months when it was wet or snowy.

Is the point of a longboard so that you can walk around with it in your hands and bring it to class?

I mean I had a normal longboard I took on the bus and to every class I went to. Never had an issue setting it somewhere. Could be because I went to Iowa State and the class size vs the rooms. Worse case I sat on it in the hallway when there wasn’t a bench or put it under my chair.

I agree with the other comments of putting a dirty wheel and dirty decked longboard in a backpack. I can see the advantage if there’s a rule you can’t have it in a building to put it away but not much else past that.

AND… the board is designed with layers of Kevlar so that students can use the long board to protect themselves from school shooters! It’s a win/win!

    (The above is not true)

I don’t skate myself but have always liked how people rock their boards outside of their backpacks like they are ready to skate as soon as the elevator doors open

Ahhh yes for the convenience of not having to set your long board against the wall or under your feet you get a structural weak point. 😂

I mean, did you even look at the design? Did you even read the article? Or is your enter take just on a photo and title?

The board was designed by an MIT Aerospace Engineering student. I’m willing to bet they get night sweats over the thought of structural weak points, and that its durability is equivalent to (if not greater than) that of a unibody deck.

Bunch of bolts through the board? Why even use a wooden deck at that point.

Ironically this folds to about the size of a onewheel, so you’re agreeing with the design and mocking it at the same time. I guess you never owned a boosted board or you’d know the pain of dragging those around by the trucks through a store or fitting it under a restaurant table. Onewheel or folded longboard are the perfect size to carry and stow.

Chads waste an additional 30 minutes of their life daily walking across campus at 2 mph.
