So my brakes make a very loud squealing noise whenever I'm braking and coming to a slow stop

2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE. About 58 thousand miles. The squealing noise doesn’t happen until right before I fully stop. The weird thing is it’s not all the time on every stop. Checked the brake pads and while they aren’t brand spanking new they definitely aren’t the source. What else could I check that can possibly be causing it?
