That‘s a misleading number, it’s most definitely just refundable deposit. The vehicle is too big and too expensive for most people.

In China, these MPVs are widely popular among affluent individuals, millionaires, drivers, VIPs, and corporate CEOs. In cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, and others, they are a ubiquitous sight.

These vehicles provide a luxurious and comfortable mode of transportation, akin to being on a private jet or in a first-class train.

They serve various purposes, such as transporting clients to and from the airport for companies, accommodating VIPs and their entire staff, and serving the needs of millionaires who use them for family outings and shopping.

In China, this car category holds significant importance, comparable to the SUV or Sports Car categories in Europe and the USA.

The Li Auto L9 is only 10 cm shorter than the Mega, and isn’t much cheaper, coming in at 430k-460k RMB, yet Li Auto sold nearly 13,000 units JUST IN OCTOBER.

There is ZERO question as to whether 10,000 Megas will be sold. The only question is how many months will it take to sell 10,000 Megas. I’m guessing it would take Li Auto no more than 2 months to move 10,000 units.

I had no idea Pontiac came back just to make a 2024 Trans Sport.

This thing is pretty hit but I applaud them so doing something different. Either way more BEVs is a good thing!

If they took PayPal that prefilled your address, it would have been only 42 minutes to fill that many orders.

    552kW of charging.

It’s going to be really interesting over the next 10 years as our auto industry went from laughing at the Chinese cars to trying to catch them. We’ll be stealing their IP and trying to catch them as best as we can.
