Not EV specific but…

“Amazon next year will allow auto dealers to sell cars through its site, starting with Hyundai.”

“Beginning in 2024, Amazon will let shoppers purchase a new car online, then pick it up or have it delivered by their local dealership.”

In Indonesia, Hyundai has been doing this since the launch of Ioniq then continues with ioniq5 and 6.

But AFAIK the handover, papers, etc are still handled via dealerships

Edit: Yeah, it’s the same. Amazon listing but still handled by the dealer

Hopefully this will require dealers to provide a specific price on the amazon listing and honor that price at the dealership.

Otherwise, it’ll be another one of those bs, provide your phone number to have a sales person pressure you to come to the dealership and test drive before you can talk about price.

Excited! Looking forward to reading dealer reviews!

Wonder if Amazon will censor feedback?

I just want to buy directly from the car manufacturer instead of having to put a deposit down at 4 hyundai dealerships just to pray one gets the color and trim I want. I dont see how going through Amazon who goes through the dealership is helpful at all

Am I the only person who would refuse to buy a car without driving the exact car?
