(don’t know much about cars but I’m trying to learn so if I say anything wrong apologies in advance) i have 2009 kia optima ex , the shifter bushing fell off so now if the cable falls off my car gets stuck in neutral. My boyfriend is the one doing replacing it but we can’t remove the middle part and it gives him about an inch of room to do it, we tried to remove the side panel but can’t do that because it’s blocked by the driver seat. Removing the panel over the shifter and cupholders wasn’t much help either, I tried to watch videos on how to do without the entire shifter piece in the middle but couldn’t find one. (I’ve spent too much recently fixing this car and I don’t have anymore to take it to a mechanic at the moment but i need to get this fixed asap so if anyone has any advice thank you )
