The stain on the left is from first taking out the dipstick it looks like metal fragments?

    Motor oil color is not an indication of condition. That’s a myth. Oil change intervals are based on the type of driving you do, mileage, time and the recommendations from the carmakers.

    It’s looks like dipstick crud. If you’re worried about metal in your oil and the possibility of engine wear/ damage you can ask a (real) mechanic to open up and inspect the pleats in your oil filter for metal flakes and shavings deposited between them. By real mechanic I don’t mean JiffyLube or Valvoline. Cheaper than having them drop the oil pan to have a look.

    Otherwise oil color in the bigger stain on the right looks fine.

    Color can’t Tell idk how new or old your car is.

    I drive the piss outta my 14 mazda 6 so I change it every 3K cause the viscosity breaks down from high rpms.

    A normal modern car driven normally I’d say 5000 miles is fine. I personally wouldn’t go anything over 7K period.
