Question for anyone familiar with Honda ignitions. Is drilling necessary to remove the ignition cylinder or can it be removed once turned into accessory position? I’ve seen a few videos but it seems like drilling is only needed if it won’t turn? Thanks (2002 CRV)

And no I’m not talking about ignition switch. I’m talking about the lock cylinder. It’s only held in by roll pins. Honda only sells it with steering lock. As they don’t consider those roll pins removable. But it’s not hard to remove the lock cylinder. All you need to do is remove two planels that cover the steering lock. Then remove the immobilizer and other plastic part that bolts onto the steering lock. Then remove the roll pins. And then steering lock gets out (it has a spring so that literally pushes it out).
