I am a noob but can someone confirm that I still have a long way to go for a brake pad replacement?

Yes, that brake pad looks good, from that angle, don’t forget to check inner pads and look at both sides of the pads as well. Just because one pad looks good doesn’t mean the adjacent pad isn’t worn low.
