If you had to drive 1000+ miles per week, what Porsche would be the best daily driver?
A few opinions.
- First, one that has already depreciated quite a bit. If you’re driving that much a week, the car is going to depreciate pretty quickly. A new, or nearly new, car will lose a lot of value.
- Get one with all the driver safety features. Adaptive cruise control, blindside alerts, etc. Let’s face it. Porsches, and really any sports car, is going to have limited visibility. You want all the help you can get in the daily commute.
- Pick one that won’t affect your hearing. I drove a 2nd gen Toyota Tacoma for many years. They’re notoriously loud. I developed tinnitus (ringing of the ears) and can’t help think the very loud vehicle contributed.
Personally, that much time in a car, I’d want something seriously comfortable.
How much money do you have?
I’d get a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Wagon and check every single box.
Wagon is the only move here
Wagons have about 20-30% more aerodynamic drag than sedans.
1 mpg difference between sedan and wagon
oh yeah he needs all the aerodynamics he can get while commuting… think of the gas mileage
No brainer - 911 Turbo S. Next?
An s580
Gt3rs hands down. Groceries? Work meeting? Dentist appt? Pick up grandma? COLD START here I come!!!
Cayenne
Cayenne Diesel.
I have a Porsche 911 GTS 992 and I drive 800km per week. Great so far. 👌🏼
Purchase a nicely specced Toyota/Honda and keep the Porsche for weekend and shorter trips. Makes it feel that much more special. Will be easier on your wallet too, not driving a Porsche 50k miles a year.
Shit my neighbor has 5 Porsches. He told me he needs a different car for everyday of the week.
Always amazing to me how often replies on Reddit have nothing to do with the original post. Like descending into average age of Redditor, or what speed ACC kicks in. To answer the original question…. Any model of Cayenne for the 1000 miles per week.
Depends on where you’re commuting to, I got a nice daily and wish I didn’t - would have been better off getting a regular budget car and then a Porsche for the weekends
But if I had to get one it would be a cpo Macan
Panamera
The new Macan GTS, plenty of room if it’s just you and some luggage. I don’t like putting too many miles like that on a nice 911. Although a 911 is more fun.
