Hey all,

I have a 2007 Lexus ES 350 and I believe that the exhaust rusted through on a long drive the other weekend. It went from being fairly quiet to sounding like a 10 second car at some point on the highway. I didn’t hit anything and nothing is hanging from the bottom. The sound seems to be coming from right under the driver.

My question is how immediate is the need to fix this? I can deal with it being loud but is there any other side effects that are really hurting the car in a significant way? I don’t have access to a garage till next weekend where I’m going to crawl under and get a better look. Thanks!

I had this happen on a long drive but it was the bolts after the cat coming loose letting the pipes separate. The worst side effect is you breathing in the exhaust fumes when stopped.
