So today my laptop for some reason stopped connecting to 5G WIFI that I was connected to, it just says “Can’t connect to this network” after I enter the password. I’ve ran windows troubleshoot, reinstalled network adapter drivers 2 times with different versions, reset the network and tried on different WIFI’s
The laptop is Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 16ABR8, win10pro (not the latest update I suppose), I bought it a week ago and barely used it
Not sure if this will work but it helped be solve some hardware issues in the past on my IdeaPad. Shut down the laptop. Hold the power button down for 60s. Then turn the laptop back on.
RE: reset the network and tried on different WIFI’s
Verify that 5GHz Wi-Fi works on other devices in the close range area?If the product can connect to 2.4GHz just fine and to a hotspot, then try also resetting the modem/router.
How many different Wi-Fi’s have you tried it on?
Can you load the laptop on Linux and test it from the USB OS?Not uncommon that other software & driver combinations on Windows are potentially wrecking the connection.
Maybe try re-install fresh copy of Win11 and Win10 Pro and see if the issue is resolved or not.
There is possibility that the network card itself may also be bad as well or the network wires are loose/swapped.
