The Fl5 Type R is the perfect everyday car. It’s fast, reliable, good looking, can get relative good gas mileage if you’re not hauling ass, and you can take it to the track too

I don’t know about that. My 2019 CTR with bolt ons and a flex fuel kit with tune runs 406 HP at the wheels on 25 to 30 percent ethanol, and 365 HP on 93 octane pump gas. Dyno proven. For a 3200 lbs car, you’re pressed to find something faster for double the price. Even the factory 295 HP is a solid performer. It’s also one of the best handling cars on the road, and the manual transmission is only bested by Porsche.

Total additional investment, parts, labor, tune, dyno was about $6k to maybe $6.5k. I think I paid right around $38k for it new, so for under $45k total, you’re not going to come close to it except with cars that break 6 figures.

          > and 365 HP on 93 octane pump gas

Golf R mk8 with downpipe, air intake and intercooler does 470 BHP at the crank on same 98 RON pump fuel, so like 380 to wheels based on guestimators? Every 2.0 turbo charged I4 does this.

Well we’re talking about FL5. And for that insane price I sure as fuck wouldn’t get a Civic, it’s insane paying that much money for a Civic, I’d rather get a used 718. Both prices are bonkers, but at least with one car I wouldn’t end up with FWD economy shitbox.

Lol, ok. I don’t know if you realize how childish you seem with you post. Anyone who claims a Type R is an “economy car shitbox” is not a reasonable person with whom you can have a reasonable adult conversation. You can appreciate the 718 as well as the engineering that went into the Type R to make one of the best cars out there. I’m going to bow out of this conversation, so i don’t get dragged down into stupidity. Take care.

Civic is an economy shit box. It’s not a high quality product, it had target price and good cooling was over that price. Deal with it, why is that hard?
