Bought a van that wasn’t running. The previous owner replaced the fuel pump but cut out a hole in the floor to reach the top of tank. I got it running fine now but want to do a camper conversion. What are some good ways to repair the cutout?

sheet metal patch… you can start at one side of the hole… start screwing it down… bend more ridges… or get one of those TV profile tools to take a pattern of the floor ridges… do some wood blocks to that shape… then form the sheetmetal over it…

cut the hole slightly larger carefully… giving you a profile piece to duplicate the ridges…

why do i keep thinking. Ruffles have ridges…

you could mix up some quick drying cement in a plastic bag and setting it over non damaged ridges… so you now have a pattern to form your patch metal too…
