Hello I’m going tomorrow to see a used CX-5. The listing has images of the dashboard with some warning lights I can quite identify. Help please.
You have to realize these lights come on once you turn on the vehicle with the engine off. May be completely normal if these lights go out once you actually start the engine…
Thanks for your great reply. Yes I thought of this as well but since I see the engine turned on at 1.7k rpm thought might be an issue but in hindsight 1.7k rpm is quite high so it my be just seconds after turning on the vehicle.
Oh wow. I missed that. I was on the crapper after all. My mistake.
That picture could be normal rpm range on a cold start on a cold weather day. If it’s idling at that range, run far away
So from left to right, top to bottom.
First, in the Tachometer, looks to be the Smart Brake Support is OFF. Below that, Lane Keep Assist & Lane departure Warning system is OFF.
Now between the Tach and Speedometer, the little bottom corner, High beam control system or the adaptive LED headlights warning light is on. It notifies of a potential problem for either of these two systems, depending on which your CX5 is equipped.
In the Speedometer, in red is the Airbag/Seatbelt pretensioner system warning light is on. It’s quoted, “A system malfunction is indicated if the warning light constantly flashes, constantly illuminates or does not illuminate at all when the ignition is switched ON.”
Then bottom corner, this time on the right, between the Speedometer and your Multi info display, in blue is your low engine coolant temperature indicator light. If it’s on, let the car warm up, drive gentle until the light turns off.
Go take a look it looks like they were in such a rush to take the picture they didn’t actually let it idle first
