I realize this is probably gonna be a stupid question for many of you but for me it’s a serious question just the same. I have a 2022 Toyota Corolla SE Sedan 6 speed floor clutch stick shift transmission and I have been traveling for quite some time. I often want to save money by NOT staying in hotels so I spend MUCH if my time IN my car, air conditioning, radio, laptop, etc running as I sit for days, even weeks without driving more than 40 feet to the gas pump and back to 'my’🙄 spot. My battery eventually dies and I was wondering if there is ANYTHING that while I sit idling that I can connect under my hood that recycles or converts or uses ANYTHING that’s moving under the hood in the engine compartment that will make it so my battery doesn’t keep dieing? If there isn’t, I think that there ‘should’ be🙄🤣lol. Thank you (VERY sincerely) in advance if anyone who has a NON SARCASTIC answer😌.

If the car is running, the battery shouldn’t be dying, even if it’s just idling. Have the battery and alternator checked. If you’re using accessory mode with the engine off, yes, it will eventually drain the battery. I work out of my truck some days and it idles for 12+ hours running everything you are, with no issues (engine running).

Thank you for taking the (and ‘your’ time to answer…but all I do is sit with it running (idling) and after a week… maybe 2 weeks🙄🤣 I turn it off and it won’t start. My FIRST battery (6 months old car) literally BLEW UP!😳 I was driving and stopped at the grocery store. In there approximately 20…30 minutes and when I got back to my car, pushed the start button in and a loud “CRACK!!” from underneath the hood. The dealership replaced it. About 2 months later I was driving. Went into the bank. 15 minutes later when I got back to my car it wouldn’t start. Wouldn’t even jump start…and the dealership said dead battery and they replaced it. 4 months later, I’ve been idling for (a couple of weeks) and 2 days ago when I turned it off to go into the store to get some food…so … maybe 15 minutes later when I got back it made 1 click but dead. I got a jump and this time it started. Now I’m afraid to turn it off😳🤣lol. They did all their ‘checks’ at the dealership both times…well…they SAID🙄😏 that they did
