There needs to be a major update to Siri, it can barley do anything

I heard the next iOS update will bring a major overhaul to Siri, maybe even implementing a Large Language Model. But those are just rumors so take it with a grain of salt big enough to make your cardiologist uncomfortable.

That doesn’t make her awful. Sorry she doesn’t speak the exact same way as you. It’s more human than ChatGPT ever could be. Just always magically knowing the answer like some sort of omnipotent being.

What kind of virtual assistant can’t tell you what time it is in a set time zone, why do I have to say a specific city in said time zone, how come every time I ask it something, I don’t get a answer, just her reading our “here’s what I found on the web”, and clearly I’m not the only one

I’m not impressed with Siri either, but you have asked a question even a human couldn’t answer.

Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight, and do you mean in the USA or in Australia? There’s four options there alone based on your query. Siri sucks, but help the girl out a little

Plus if I ask google, what time is it eastern time, or if I ask Alexa, it answers because it uses common sense, I live in America, I probably want to know EST American time

And on top of that, eastern time is a time zone, and it’s what I was looking for (ET), and it can’t even answer that

The only thing I ever use Siri for is “set a timer for xx minutes” or “set an alarm for (time).” Siri is pretty good for that. Everything else is a crapshoot.

As an AirPod user the most annoying one to me is “turn conversation awareness on/off” and she does some shit with HomeKit? lol

Turn Siri off. Give Apple some worrisome data. Why would I use something thats trash and doesn’t work, embarrassing for a company as successful as Apple

Apple is planning to integrate more AI technology into ios 18 I believe. I’m hoping they update Siri then.

Siri is so useless and unreliable that I have the action button mapped to Google Assistant.

Dude, it really is the fucking worst. I asked siri this morning “how long will it take for me to drive to my next appointment.” She pulls up my calendar appointment. So I then ask “how long will it take for me to get there?” It then does a fucking web search “how long will it take for me to get there?” So. Fucking. Dumb. The more I use ChatGPT, the worse Siri seems.

EDIT: I should note that the address was in the calendar appointment.

This was me the other day. I asked Siri to “text my wife how far I’m from home” she first needed me to unlock my phone and second she gave me results from the web.

I then asked her how far I’m from home and she said 5 minutes. Can two and two not be put together.

Siri has almost gotten me into car wrecks with how bad it is. I typically only use it while driving, and she can’t even read me a basic answer to a question, instead saying “Here’s some results from the web. Is this okay?”

Like no, I’m driving. Read the f’in results

It’s not even *consistent* in what it’s dumb about. Sometimes, something works that makes you go “Wait - that was actually quite good …” so then you try it again and she’s back to asking Wolfram Alpha how to send a text to my mom.

Worst part is some requests will work one day, then not work the next, then work again.

Especially with requests about HomeKit or commands that have similar wording to HomeKit scenes. Drives me nuts.

I hope the new iOS revamps siri. That’d be so nice. If Siri could just have a bit more power to do things I’d be really happy

*le me walking with my airpods pro*

    *a wild message arrives*

Me: Hey Siri, can you read the message? *walking my way downtown*

Siri: you have to unlock your iphone first.

    SO WHATS THE FREAKING POINT
