I plan to put some 1TB SSDs into long term (2-4 years) storage. I was told that the memory in SSDs lose charge over time so this might result in me returning to completely lost data
- Is there a “safe” time period where I can assume the SSDs still have the data on them?
- Do I need to read the whole 1TB worth of data off each SSD or would plugging them in every time period above be enough to have the data be reliably stored on them?

please ask this every day
But you don’t understand! My question is actually unique! I would know that, because none of the 0 other posts I read mention my incredibly specific and niche use case that I developed because I don’t understand the fundamentals!
2 years is long term?
Wow now I feel old, at my age 2 years feels like what 6 months used to be lol.
