After months of hype, Humane, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company, on Thursday launched its first product: the AI Pin, a digital personal assistant housed in a tiny, square-shaped piece of hardware.
I’ve seen SF movies where they have this type of setup of people punching buttons that were projected onto their hands somehow. Or perhaps embedded in their skin.
And I thought the idea seemed ridiculous, and I still think it’s ridiculous even though it’s actually happening.
Well add to that voice calls are usually for private conversations and so you’ll have to put earbuds in anyways… and wear this stupid bulky pin on your shirt all the time? These days personal calls are many times video or just text. This is the kind of idea that sounds cool to boomers
As a card-carrying boomer, I can say that this doesn’t sound the least bit cool. Unless it works like a Star Trek communicator badge. In which case, I’m in.

It doesn’t even teleport.
