I like using a mouse with my laptop, but it always annoys me to have a USB-A dongle hanging off the side. I’d love a module that could enclose it inside. I think it could fit. Has anyone explored this?

Why not a Bluetooth mouse?
Trying to sync a mouse in a busy office is an absolute crapshot.
There are lots of benefits to 2.5ghz dongles for mice. They have lower latency than Bluetooth, they are less prone to disconnection, you don’t have to deal with Bluetooth pairing, less chance of interference by other Bluetooth devices, better battery life, the list goes on.
Bluetooth is 2.4Ghz, same as proprietary dongles. I’ve been using Bluetooth mice for most of the last 20 years in a very RF noisy environment… Apple’s mice did need frequent battery replacement. Others from Microsoft and Logitech, eg Logitech’s M720? Once or twice a year they get a new AA despite being used all day every day. Disconnecting? Not a problem.
Probably not your use case, but Bluetooth is way too high latency for games. Bluetooth vs 2.4Ghz dongles is a night and day difference in something like an fps.
Anyone who cares that much about gaming should be using a wire with a USB connector on the end opposite their rodent. 2.4Ghz vs 2.4Ghz is still 2.4Ghz RF.
