Every 5k miles for me or twice a year. Pretty much I do the oil change when my oil monitor system tells me “Oil Maintenance Required Now”

That one time my Escape went 21,000 miles between oil changes. Now it gets the sauce every 10,000 or so miles

A friend of mine used to have a Prius and I swear the changed the oil every 2 months (about 3k miles). It was so hard to watch. She did not want to hear my advice lmao

There is a service bulletin that specifically says if you do excessive idling or drive in “extreme temperatures” you should do 5000 instead of 10000. So I do 5000.

      TSB-0104-21?

Just like the manual the TSB says repeated short trips under 5 miles below 32F require the 5k mile interval.

The manual specifically calls out excessive idling from security work or delivery drivers.

Every 5k-6k regardless of time. I usually hit that mileage at 4-6 months though.

I sent my oil into Blackstone last oil change. They told me the oil still looked good and xould probably go longer. I’m usually running Mobil 1 or Pennzoil “high mileage” which ever is on sale or cheaper. Both state you can go upwards of 10k miles.

I change every 5.5-7k miles, I do 4 oil changes a year so try to time it for every 3 months regardless of miles unless I hit that 7k max. I Drive about 24k a year, was 30k last 2 years :(

Make sure you know how to save that money, I get my oil changes done at a Toyota for 45-60 depending on the special they have.

I’m on the side of facts and reason, doing the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and not my grandfather’s OCI.

Name one engine failure caused by the superior 10,000 mile OCI.
