So it’s my friends neighbors car and she never used it, and it’s just sitting there collecting dust for years apparently. It’s a Carrera S from what I can tell from the late 90’s, or maybe I’m wrong, that’s why I’m asking here!

Ok guys what do you recommend I ask her if she could sell it to me. She doesn’t seem to know the value of the Car either. People who’ve actually bought cars please comment, it’s been sitting there for a couple of years.

Offer $15k and see if you can get away with murder fuck it. If you don’t someone else will. Or it will rot til it’s actually only worth $5k

Don’t be an asshole about it please. “Doesn’t seem to know the value.” isn’t an excuse to rip anybody off. Since you said “She.” have you considered she’s a widow and that was her husbands car and she can’t part with it. Maybe no kids. So just offering some perspective that you can’t expect everybody to research everything and if she had no intention of parting with it she had no reason to consult anybody prior.

Ask her if she wants to sell it and what she wants for it. If you want to be a really great human you could offer to take the car, get it fixed up and sold & to split the proceeds 50:50. Could be a great way to make $50k-$70k with no up-front cash needed.

        That’s exactly what I’d do.

Unless you have $100k sitting around for purchase and repairs.
