The orange in packages thing has a legitimate reason though: it’s an accessibility thing for people with arthritis or other limited mobility who can’t peel an orange. Ideally it would be a low volume niche product only for people who need it.
Is that really why they were made or is that just a happy coincidence that’s retroactively used as justification? I hear this brought up a lot with regard to gimmicky infomercial products too, but it doesn’t seem to me like disabled people are the target demographic for any of this.
