Russia and Iran have already won this round. Palestinians will be paying the price.

Was pondering the same kinda question when Osama bin Laden was accused to be the guy behind the 911 attacks. The Bush administration was pushing that terrorist threat narrative claiming Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. (that of course were never found) He was ultimately denied to go to war by Congress because of insufficient proof of that. So, how come an allegedly educated guy like ObL (that came from a good family with business ties to the Bush family) could not have foreseen that the 911 attacks would ultimately give Bush exactly what he wanted…? At that point he was already on the run. Shouldn’t he have known that an American invasion of Iraq would ultimately destabilise the Muslim world and give America further strategic advantages…?!! The outcome could in no way have suited someone considered to be a Muslim extremist, yes or no??!

Not to say there is 0 evidence Osama is at all responsible for 9/11. But the only evidence was that video of him “admitting it” has been proven to have wrong and misleading subtitles. He’s not talking about any attacks or anything related to terrorism in the video.

Yeah, …if that even was Bin Laden at all. Those ‘admitting it’ videos shouldn’t bear any significance, especially today with all that fancy video sorcery

The video I mean is actually really old. They aired it after 9/11 as proof it was Osama, but some German Muslims saw it an recognised it (besides being able to understand what Osama is saying). It was a video from the 90s, where Osama is talking about his ideology and mostly Islam stuff, nothing about any attacks at all.

There is a guy called James Corbett, he has a website called thecorbettreport. He is a weird anarchist who is paranoid about surveillance technocracy, but he has great documentaries about 9/11, Al Qaeda, Osama, even some stuff like how Big Oil came to be and took over the world etc etc. I recommend his long form docs on stuff like that because he is VERY thorough with sources.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman took his first phone call from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi as Riyadh tries to prevent a broader surge in violence across the region.

The two sources told Reuters there would be a delay in the U.S.-backed talks on normalisation with Israel that was a key step for the kingdom to secure what Riyadh considers the real prize of a U.S. defence pact in exchange.

Until Iran-backed Hamas sparked a war on Oct. 7 by launching a devastating attack on Israel, both Israeli and Saudi leaders had been saying they were moving steadily towards a deal that could have reshaped the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia, birthplace of Islam and home to its two holiest sites, had until the latest conflict indicated it would not allow its pursuit of a U.S. defence pact be derailed even if Israel did not offer significant concessions to the Palestinians in the their bid for statehood, sources had previously said.

A Saudi statement said the crown prince told Raisi “the kingdom is exerting maximum effort to engage with all international and regional parties to halt the ongoing escalation”, underling Riyadh’s move to contain the crisis.

The Saudi government did not provide further details on the call but the statement said the crown prince stated the kingdom’s “opposition to any form of civilian targeting and the loss of innocent lives” and expressed Riyadh’s “unwavering stance in standing up for the Palestinian cause”.
