I worked for a very large company in the UK, fully remote. In 2021, I was head hunted by a competition and accepted their offer. I gave 2 months notice to my current role, and resigned.

At the end of my notice period, I was sent a final payslip by post by original employer.

The next month, I see that the company is still paying me, even though I resigned. This has now been going on for nearly 2 years, they are still paying me to this day.

I called my previous company’s HR helpdesk and they said they couldn’t help me because they were in the process of moving to a new HR system, so I need to wait and call back in a week.

I called back a week later and now I can’t even speak to anyone, as when you call the number, it says the number is not in service.

I’ve tried to write to them, and the director of the company, but they never reply back and the payments keep coming.

This is really messing up my tax code and NI payments.

I’ve tried to call HMRC but they say there isn’t anything they can do, and to contact the company.

Any suggestions on how I either stop this, or get HMRC to correct my tax code / NI payments?
