or, how often do you, personally, replace them? i have a pretty big collection with lots of niche or imported herbs/spices/chilies so it would be like $250+ to do a full restock, and i’ve only needed to repurchase a few super common ones in the last 5 years so most of mine are several years old.

google says to replace every 4-8mo for ground spices and 1-2 years for herbs. but i feel like that’s the same thing as the whole “change your sheets once a week” thing- yes it’s ideal, but a good portion of people don’t do it as often as they should, and still everything is fine & their life goes on unaffected.

i’m relatively new to adulting and haven’t dealt w this yet so i have no clue. also is there anything that lasts super long and doesn’t need to be replaced? other than like salt/sugar lol
