I recently finished Dungeon Meshi, Ousama Ranking, and lastly Frieren. I am looking for series around that vibe, preferably not Isekais (At least not the modern ones). Thanks in advance for checking this post!

Didn’t see Mushishi mentioned yet. One of my absolute favorites. Interesting stories and an intriguing universe. So good.
It’s more poetic with short independent stories, but a great anime indeed.
There’s a few episodes with backstory about MC, but mainly independent stories yeah. Really like the folk-lore style storytelling
I am surprised seeing Mushishi here. First time I heard of it was in middle school. I have been wanting to watch it for a while, actually, but for some reason never did ┐(シ)┌ Maybe its the moment!
I wouldn’t say it has a very similar vibe to Frieren or dungeon meshi though (haven’t seen Ousama Ranking). Less humourous and leans more on story than character development. I thought of it because the slower pacing of frieren.
