The first orbital racing game.
Free to play in browser, no account required.
This is interesting, not seen anything try proper orbital mechanics since KSP.
Could you put
[]at the start of the title please? Thanks, yea I did that. It’s been fascinating seeing people try to figure it out. Kind of like a hard puzzle racing game. Not being able to just burn directly to the finish line, and a circular finish line are difficult to understand for anyone who doesn’t have experience in space sim games.
I had a quick click from my phone, does it work on a touchscreen or do I need a proper keyboard and mouse setup?
Should work on touchscreen, did you have any issues? Performance is a bit difficult given that it’s an orbital mechanics simulation running in the browser.
Oh yeah, seems to be working now, maybe I just wasn’t paying enough attention before. Definitely something cool, but a full page of stats might be a little overwhelming for a brand new user. The video tutorial is useful, but an interactive tutorial that’s easy to find might be better.
Good I’m glad it worked, the leaderboards are quite a lot of information indeed, but I think the social recognition is necessary. An interactive tutorial is planned in the future if the idea is validated by a publisher. Thanks for trying it out!
What makes the social recognition necessary? I am basically seeing all that as noise clogging up my single player level selection screen lol
Maybe not “necessary” but regarding 2026 and how competitive the gaming industry is currently, I don’t see anyone caring about Slingshot Speeders unless there’s some sense of value gained through competition. All runs are saved and validated by the server, so cheating is impossible, which further improves the forward looking value proposition.
I think what I can do is maybe add a toggle arrow to hide them, that way they don’t appear if someone doesn’t want them to they can hide them. The standings tab already handles the overall standings.
