I’ll probably be returning to voices of the void (it’s free!), a game in which you are a space noise signal researcher high in the remote areas of the Swiss Alps. Every day you get up, interpret received signals, and probably have to adjust one of the off site satellite dishes.Various events occur, and, for the most part, if you go out of your way to do your job during the day and sleep at night, you probably won’t see many “horror” elements. But that’s not how it always goes…
Oh, I just saw a video for this one. It looks pretty neat, but it means I also had a fair bit spoiled, so I’ll probably wait until the next update to pick it up, both for new stuff added and for my terrible memory to forget half of it.
Been a long time since I played, but might return to Rapture to kindly kill some splicers.
It’s either that or wait a little while and get a legit copy of Changed in order to play at anything above like 5fps on my setup.
Though, I also hear the Casualties Unknown demo is pretty good, so I might check that out. Seems close enough to PvE survival horror from what I’ve seen.
Crow Country, hopefully Alan Wake 1 and 2, and maybe a bit of Resident Evil HD Remake.
I dont really play scary games, but i got soma for free on gog some time ago, so maybe ill try that out
I remember downloading a mod for Soma that lobotomized the enemies. I know that breaks the game but if you just want story it certainly helps.
I think that’s just a native option now.
So worth it! I got it the same way a long while ago. That one definitely messes with your head!
Grim Dawn, i’m back to my arpg addiction
REPO and Valheim. But I’m a scaredycat though.
hear me out.
REPO can still be terrifying even seasoned. It has a vibe that’s just scary enough for a scaredycat like me and can overcome it. The fear-to-annoyance scale is gentle enough for me. But even that, it still sometimes spook me with the atmosphere.
Valheim have plenty of ghouls and goblins and take some skill to dispatch them properly when I’m out too long in my expedition that should have turned around hours ago but noooo just a little bit more exploring and looting and facing the consequences of my own actions.
I’ve had Observation in my backlog waiting for spooky season. I’m not going to spoil anything (as I don’t even know enough to spoil so don’t spoil it for me either) but you play as a ship AI in a science vessel in space.
That’s all I needed for it to hook me so that’s all you’re going to get as a hook.
Edit: I think it’s also worth mentioning it’s less horror and more thriller.
I was about to say I haven’t heard much from the developer in a while, but apparently it has a new name and it’s behind the new Silent Hill Townfall. Looking forward to playing that at some point, as I too enjoyed Observation.
I’m going to run through a few Resident Evils until I get sick of them starting with finally finishing Village, then probably looping back around to the 1-3 remakes.
I’m also thinking about starting Shadow Hearts, which I never played back in the day. I’ve heard it’s good, but the ring system has always put me off trying it. I’ll have to see how it actually plays before I know if I can commit to it.
Cronos: The New Dawn and Mouthwashing
Amnesia Rebirth.
Wait what, there’s a remake of Amnesia?!

Might give Cryptmaster a replay. The wit and charm on that one fits my kind of spooky vibe perfectly, since I’m not big on “traditional” horror games :)
I was playing Requiem but then some other games came up so I didn’t finish it. So probably that and silent hill f which is on my backlog
I’m gonna keep on dying in Valheim.
Scorn is already installed and i just wait to have the time to finally play it.
