Trans issues affect only trans people who suffer from this right wing manufactured culture wars destroying their rights and lives.
Trans people have families. Trans issue effect them too. Plus some people in the world are just generally against hatred and cruelty. As you say it is all manufactured and yet another demonstration what disgusting people right wing supporters are.
Making them a perfect ‘other’ or ‘out’ group for the right to demonize and rally around hate. First they came for the trans… and then they came for me and no-one was left to stand up for me. Don’t be that person, even if you are selfish.

That doesn’t give people running for office permission to turn their back on trans people. You don’t have to make your campaigns focal point trans people while still continuing to support them.
Ok, but, attacks on trans people are still being encouraged by shitpigs like Musk and Joanne Rowling. Apathy is better than hate, but only in the most dismal sense.

My takeaway as well. I was eating with my aunt when she mentioned “a girl just walked out of the men’s room” my knee jerk reaction was “so?”.
To be perfectly clear, I do care about the legislation needlessly being passed to criminalize this shit. But here’s a small glimmer of hope. I live in the middle of the middle of nowhere and we have a food truck area with only one bathroom. It has a sign with the classic men and women logos, and half half one, and an alien that reads"whatever just wash your hands". I think that about sums up where everyone should be at with this idpol bullshit.
