Instagram takes down a Vancouver strip club’s account due to a sign saying:
CANT HANDLE A POOL BUT WANTS OUR LAKE?
Previously they were suspended from X/twitter for a sign saying:
FOREVER NEIGHBOURS NEVER NEIGHBORS
Some large Social Media companies are quick to censor benign funny messages.
Wow, that was all it took to get removed? Such a fragile administration
I’m on the verge of fear by an administration that cancels a foreign account posting a non-violent joke… is this a control state?
Yeah this one is extremely bizarre and not at all what I’d expect. Was the post mass reported? Did they have some excuse because it was a strip joint? Because it was in Canada?
the only thing i can think of that makes any amount of sense, is that comments on the image veered off into ‘prohibited content’. zuck’s knee jerked and hit the ban button. this account probably wasn’t the only one affected then, either.
There’s another possibility, seeing as the Trump family does come to BC periodically, typically for hunting trips etc… and the Trumps are definitely the sort to check out strip clubs / skin bars. There’s a small chance that Eric or some other Trump was actually following that strip clubs posts, as its a better known one in Vancouver (largely for these sorts of posts) – but once the content was about him/his, he called zuck.
