I have some padded bike shorts I’d like to wear on a bike ride, but I’m getting pretty in my head about poop particles getting into the shorts and not washing out in the wash.

so I came thinking part of your questions aws if people shower before using a bidet?
Hmm, i had never considered that question. I suppose using a bidet is basically a habit every time you use a toilet with one, but i can’t imagine any advantage from using a bidet by itself before getting in the shower. If anything it might be too much cleaning, re: skin flora balance.
My question was more like, let’s say you wake up in the morning and want to go on a bike ride, but you’re all sweaty from the night, and haven’t pooped yet or used the bidet. Do you have to wash first before getting in the bike shorts? The consensus seems to be that since the bike shorts are going to get “gross” and washed at the end of the workout, it is unnecessary to shower beforehand.
But to me it seems worth it to try to go to the bathroom and use the bidet before the bike shorts as an extra precaution.
Other people have mentioned eating more fiber to try and reduce liquid stool which can escape the butthole more easily. This also makes sense to me. I wonder if it wouldn’t also be a good idea to reduce gas-generating foods to avoid farting in the bike shorts.
I’ve definitely learned a lot in this thread :)
