Belarus now has one of the lowest inflation rates of the European continent, less than half of EU’s average and a quarter of Poland’s.

Belarus achieved this by doing the opposite of what western economists advise by introducing government mandated price controls in October, much to the derision and ridicule of the western media. Belarus also negotiated with the biggest suppliers of groceries to introduce discounts in basic items that are socially important. The list of price controlled items is constantly revised to exclude luxury items and those whose control is no longer needed.

It’s important to note that this happens against a backdrop of permanent sanctions trying to suffocate the Belarusian economy. It’s also instructive to see how countries that enjoy support from the EU such Poland or Moldova go in the opposite direction.

Bolivia employed a similar strategy, and for one year and a half has the one of the lowest inflation rates of only 0,8% in August which is the lowest in South America, despite they same “experts” predicting the collapse of government subsides at any moment for all this time.

The difference here is a government that cares about its people enough to not give a fuck about what psychotic economists, who only care about financial investors making bank.
