minus-squareGhostalmedia@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up12arrow-down6·1 year agoI hope not. RCS still has issues. Example, it still requires you to have a phone number. iMessage can be used with an email address. The Apple insider podcast gents did a nice break down of this a few months ago. iMessage is a lot more than just proprietary RCS.

minus-squarekautau@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·1 year agoI think both things are valid. Apple should adopt RCS, but also that standard should be further pushed to include better features and not just stagnate
minus-squareJune@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down3·1 year agoI’m willing to bet Apple will adopt RCS as soon as it can be implemented seamlessly.
minus-squaresteltek@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 year agoNever. The epic court case has evidence showing Apple views iMessage as a moat to hold their users hostage.
