The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is using the last of its red pine seed, so now they are asking people to help replenish their supply for reforestation.
They are offering up to $125 per bushel for the cones to replenish their seed supplies.
Bushel. After all, why not make up even more crazy units? How many stones are that?
The old bushel is equal to 2 kennings, 4 pecks, or 8 dry gallons, and was used mostly for agricultural products, such as wheat.
“was used” - that is where you are wrong.
I just copied it from Wikipedia. The new bushel is based off the old bushel and the old bushel is not used so that’s right I guess
Hahaha, all good. I am just making fun of these absurd units still being used in 2023.
Most agricultural products are measured in bushels, including grain, soybeans, and corn. But yeah, weird standard of measure. Why not go by pounds?
