You do realize that law enforcement is limited by jurisdiction and national law enforcement reports directly to the executive of the country. This is how the USA handles hosting criminals, and even electing them.

Sure, if the government gives someone (limited) immunity then “fine”. But a promise of an official is worth nothing if not backed up by the proper legal framework. Else law enforcement will arrest someone wanted. This also works that way in the US.

You are spreading misinformation. The article in post states:

“If Putin decides to go to Brazil, it will be the courts who decide whether or not he will be arrested, not me,” said Lula da Silva at a press conference in New Delhi.

The president of Brazil had previously said Putin wouldn’t be arrested if he travelled to the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. “If I’m the president of Brazil and if he [Putin] comes to Brazil, there’s no way that he will be arrested,” said Lula da Silva.

It is interesting that Bloomberg is the one acting hysterical over things in the world going against Washington Consensus. There is a lot of ambiguity in what has been said, even after correction.

Misi formation? It is exactly the point I made yesterday. Lula does not have the authority to do that. His country has laws and they are enforced by separate branches.

Only if he walks this immunity through the proper channels it’s worth something. And he now states that himself too.

And no… Washington consensus… Brazilian law.

No, Washington Consensus. Bloomberg is a US government shill tabloid and wants Russia to be balkanised and subjugated. Anything opposing Putin AND Russia is always going to be a pro-US/NATO terrorism talking point.
