I had a clapper. It would turn the light on if I coughed just right in my sleep. And the subsequent cursing at it didn’t turn the lights back off either.

I use IR remotes plugged into lamps, they’re better than direct overhead lights anyway, easier on the eyes
I recently moved and my new bedroom has several light switches. I’ve placed my bed in a way that I can switch off the light with my foot while lying in bed. I love it so much.
