There were two horses that played Artax, contrary to the urban legend they both were happy and healthy at the end of filming.
I spent a really long time thinking the horse died in that scene and it ruined animals in movies for me.

I don’t remember that part… I mean, I remember Artax drowning; I don’t remember it looping for 3 hours. 🤔
This was such a extreme experience for me. I was in second grade I think and the elementary school brought all the children to the cinema without the parents.
Here I remember crying, it was soo sad! And then when Gmork attacks Atreju I had to close my eyes.
This scene heavily traumatized my sister. I’m not allowed to mention the never ending story around her children
