I have a different ritual, where at the end of Chapter 1 I dismiss every generic NPC from Ramza’s party and go through the rest of the game with Alicia, Lavian, and Rad, because canonically those are the characters present at the church in the first mission. Also Ramza’s got to be a dark knight before he throws down with Gafgarion for the final time.
