I purchased a pre-owned segway scooter from Craigslist, and there were certain things about the transaction that came off very sketchy. It was very cheap, they insisted on a cash transaction, it didn’t come with a charger, the phone number bound to the bike is different than the sellers number, etc. Also, not to stereotype, but the seller did not look like the type that would be interested in electric Scooters.

If I knew for certain that the scooter I’m riding was stolen, I would not be comfortable owning and using it. Even this suspicion has taken away a significant portion of enjoyment and excitement around it. Is there any way to check to see if the first owner sold it or if it was stolen? Should I contact segway and give them the serial number and ask that they reach out to the original owner? Should I contact the police? Should I just shrug and forget about it because there’s nothing that can be done?

Having said all that, I don’t have any legitimate evidence that it was stolen, which is why I’m not sure what to do. Any advice is much appreciated.
