    Downplaying other people’s conditions by claiming that they never used to exist is ridiculous and insulting. They just weren’t understood previously.

    Men in the trenches during WW1 who were suffering from PTSD were accused of cowardice in their day. Maybe the idiots who say this shit would prefer if we just called autistic people “antisocial” or “eccentric”.

      Most policing of other people’s behavior is for your own personal benefit, so whatever makes it most likely for the autistic person to behave in the desired way is the “right way” to call it.

      Shame and being ostracized are just ways to make sure no one else falls out of line.

      It’ll continue until it stops working. We need to be individually brave and support each other against stuff like this, and I think all will turn out fine :)
