I’m liking the newer art style. Different enough from what we’ve had from all the NSMB games

Same. My wife isn’t much of a gamer but NSMB Wii and NSMBU are some of the only games we’ll play together and really enjoy. I think I’d actually pay for subscription DLC for a NSMB-style game if it gave you a few new levels to play through every month or two.

I hoped Mario Maker 2’s user-generated content would feel like that, but the levels were so small and puzzle-focused that it really didn’t work.

The game has a lot of the modern Rayman 2D games’ energy. The flowers commenting on what is happening, the musical elements, the generally trippiness.
    This looks great.

Wasn’t expecting to be impressed by a 2D Mario game after New Super Mario Bros. 2 and U. Really excited for this game.

As someone who enjoyed the “New Super Mario Bros.” games, this looks absolutely fantastic. 2D Mario has always been my favorite, so I’m super pumped to see something new that’s not “New”. Even though I enjoyed the “New” I think it’s time to move away from “New” to new. Ya know?

Yeah, at first I didn’t like the new style, but as the trailer went on I started to like it more and more. It’s a refreshing update, but it almost reminds me of the style of the older games too in some ways

Only thing I don’t like is the voice-acted talking flowers. I don’t need a voice to pop up and go “wow this is weird and wacky” when something weird and wacky happens.

I agree, I’ll be turning the voice lines off if I can, hearing spoken word feels a bit off in Mario Games, unless its a song like in Odyssey.

Finally, a new Art-Style. It’s awesome how animated the Characters are. Mario looking outside the Pipe, holding his hat etc.

This plus rpg they really hitting that nostalgia market hard this time.
This looks trippy. The talking flowers really made me smile I don’t know why. Yoshi running in the air to get a further jump really reminded me of Yoshi’s island so I’ll give this one a try.

Stoked for Super Mario RPG, played it years ago, never finished it though as I got stuck on a boss. But I’m definitely getting it.

Ngl, I always thought something like this (Mario with ‘drugs’ that cause weird-ass environment changes) would be amazing. Crazy to see that come to fruition.

I’m usually an extremely patient gamer (see: if it’s not on a system I can pick up used for <=$100, or could have at some point in history before it gained collector value, I’m probably not playing it), but I’m almost willing to make an exception here. Almost.

The graphics in this look very intriguing. I’m not sure it’ll be my favourite 2d mario game but I am sure I will enjoy it thoroughly! I’m happy Nintendo didn’t abandon the format, I was somewhat worried they were going to only make 3d Mario games going forward.
