I bought a TUF 4090, and then of course start looking up after the fact and see a huge amount of coil whine posts everywhere. I haven’t see a lot of coil whine posts recently and was hoping that maybe they are better?
I realise coil whine is a crap shot, but did I make my odds worse?
DPD coming in the next day with the card and the merchant said I can refuse to take it and it will go back for a refund (UK / CCL).
I would need to take my loop apart to even test the card on air, which is a good excuse to install my QDCs I have sitting.
I was looking at Alphacool Core for the Tuf, but also as you can see, have heat killer everything, so might get their tuf block.
I guess what I am looking for here, is someone to validate the coil while hell of the asus tuf, tell me it went away, or recommend a card to go for without it. I read that Zotac seem to be pretty good there. As these cards are so damn expensive. I don’t see myself getting a new one for two years and don’t want to be stuck with a whine. Are UK merchants happy to take back cards that have whine on them?
Many thanks.
