The game runs well on Steam Deck and hits playable framerates at all settings except maximum.

How was BG3 on deck? It’s next on my list after I finish Elden Ring with my SO
It’s certainly playable, but I’m tempted to wait for the FSR 2 update before I get too far into it.
I’m hoping that between other performance fixes and FSR 2 the game will get a significant deck performance improvement over the next few months.
It actually works pretty good. You have to cut the settings down a bit and honestly playing on pc is easier but to the devs credit they totally got it playable and even modified the game so you use a scroll wheel system for selecting spells. I suspect that’s how the ps5 version will operate.
I opted to finish the game on pc but now that I’m done I don’t mind playing it casually on the deck.
Cool. I’ll probably stream it to the deck from my PC so I can lounge on the couch and play!
There are some good community profiles if you want the PC controls back. I really don’t like how the official controller support couples the camera and pointer
If you press the left joystick I believe it puts it to pointer mode.
Ouuuu I’m trying that later
I’ll look at those when I start the game. Good tip.
I’m in the third act, over 50h played. Every single minute on a docked deck, 1080p/30fps output.
Perfectly playable. Of course graphic settings are almost all the way down and facial hair could look better, for example.
BG3 runs fairly well in act 1, but I expect poor performance in later sections.
Definitely sounds like a stream it from my PC type situation. At least the controls are solid based on other comments.
