Hello everyone, I’m planning a 21-day vacation in Italy, and trying to create an itinerary. My main idea is to start at Palermo and then end in Turin staying 1-3 days in one place so that I can experience as much as possible (please let me know if that’s a stupid idea). The problem is, Italy has too much to offer, so after an initial investigation, I found myself with this:

  1. Palermo
  2. Catania
  3. Naples
    1. Pompeii
  4. Rome
  5. Siena
  6. Florence
    1. Lucca
    2. Pisa
  7. Bologna
  8. Venice
  9. Verona
  10. Milan
  11. Turin

This list is already too big, and it still misses interesting places like Montepulciano, Cinque Terre, and so on.

I understand that I need to shorten it so that I won’t need to rush and spend too much time traveling, but I’m not sure which cities to remove so that I won’t lose any unique experiences. I’m mostly interested in architecture, culture, history, “authentic feel”, and food, so I guess I can remove Milan from the list, but what else?

Could you please give me some feedback on this, which cities should I remove/replace/add?

I will be grateful for any advice, thank you a lot in advance!
