I’ve been traveling for 7 weeks. I already called my bank a month ago (had to wait on the phone for almost 2 hours AND my phone bill was over $100 due to the call being long distance) but I informed them I’m traveling so they made a note. I had no more issues until today. I was successfully able to pay for my hotel as I was checking out. But my card when declined when I tried to pay for my taxi to the airport. My card was also declined when I tried to buy food at the airport. I’m nowhere close to reaching me credit card limit. I have thousands left. This shouldn’t be happening. I’m unable to call the bank because I already lost my original SIM card (I’ve gone through so many SIM cards in the last 7 weeks) and I can’t make international calls on the European ones I have. The bank app and website doesn’t have an option to contact them online. I’m now worried because I’m about to board my flight to the next country and I won’t be able to pay for my taxi, train, anything to get to my hostel…nor will I be able to pay for my hostel when I get there.
I’m with TD bank in Canada.
